LEARN HOW TO MAKE A

FELT FLOWER

and in the process, basic wet-felting techniques.

Unlike watching a five minute You-tube video, this short course assumes you have no prior experience. It covers all the basics and shows you all the little things to look for in the process.

This is an easy little workshop. You will learn how to make felt flowers and in the process learn a lot of the basic wet felting techniques.

Included in this workshop:
  • How to make your soapy solution
  • How to pull tiles/shingles from roving and batts. You will learn what these are too.
  • How to lay out the fibres to create the flower and how to turn it into solid felt

Belle, your tutor, will lead you through the video workshop that shows you how to make the flower from beginning to end. Just as though you were in her studio at one of her in-house workshops. Unlike the in-studio workshops you can play the videos multiple times over the 6 weeks you will have access to them.

As a bonus, the PDFs can all be downloaded and kept.

  • Special bonus: you also get to learn how to make a simple felt bead. Great for the centre of flowers or making jewellery.

There are a number of technique PDFs and videos along with the main workshop videos. They show you how to make your gel soap and soapy water solution, how to pull the fibre from the roving and how to do a pinch test

  • By the end of the workshop you will not only have a lovely little felt flower, you will also have the basic techniques to move on to other project workshops

She has a degree in Creative Arts , and a Post-Graduate diploma in Education from Wollongong University, Australia and a Masters in Arts Administration from University of NSW, Australia. Belle has been a creator, teacher, curator and exhibitor. She began her studies and practice in painting and pottery in the 1980's. Since moving to a beautiful little village in the Noosa Shire in Queensland, in 2000, she has been working with fibre and textiles, focusing mostly on feltmaking."I just love the way wool can be used in so many different ways. You can dye it, spin it, weave it or felt it. You can make garments with it or use it to make 2D or 3D artworks. "Trained to teach, Belle began holding workshops in her studio several years ago. She loves passing on her knowledge to others."I had built up quite a following but kept getting messages from people saying they couldn't make it to a workshop because it was on the wrong day, or they lived too far away. So I decided to make my workshops available online so everyone could do them when it suited them."You can see some of the work Belle creates and sells by following her facebook page, Beljays Felt
